Removal of Reactive Black Dye in Water by Magnetic Mesoporous Carbon from Macadamia Nutshell

The novel and intriguing role of Fe(NO3)3 as a chemical activator in carbonization macadamia nutshell is introduced this work. Magnetic mesoporous carbon was achieved by activation with under nitrogen atmosphere at 850°C (MMC-850). Porosity MMC-850 included SBET 317 m2/g Vmicro 0.0796 cm3/g considerably high Vmeso 0.4318 cm3/g. Not only did possesses good magnetic properties saturation magnetization coercive force 31.48 emu/g 506.6 Oe, respectively, but also showed high-removal efficiency reactive black dye (RB5) maximum adsorption capacity 123.51 mg/g. experimental data fit the Langmuir isotherm Elovich model. Thermal regeneration effective degrading RB5 removal ability above 90% after two cycles. from water an adsorbent considered facile inexpensive method since food by-product which green renewable precursor. potential because it can be separated wastewater treatment system using force. Besides, particle not brittle compared to other porous biochar/activated similar size; therefore, excellent candidate for column packing or scaling up facilities future.
